Reading Parameter is free and requires no account. You may not attempt to disrupt the service, circumvent security or access areas of the site you are not authorised to use. Automated access should be reasonable and must respect our robots.txt; systematic bulk copying of the site is not permitted.

Articles, headlines, summaries and original illustrations published here are the copyright of Parameter unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to quote us: short excerpts with clear attribution and a link to the original article are fine, and encouraged. Republishing whole articles is not.
Images and illustrations
The illustrations on this site are drawn for Parameter and are our copyright. You may reproduce one alongside a short excerpt that quotes and links to the article it belongs to. Any other use — reproducing an illustration on its own, using it to head your own piece, or using it commercially — needs our permission first. Ask us and we will usually say yes for non-commercial and educational use.
Where a story carries a photograph or diagram from somewhere else, the credit beneath it names the owner and their terms apply, not ours. We cannot grant you permission to reuse material we do not own, so please approach the named owner directly.
Other people’s content
We link to and attribute the sources behind every story. Those sources remain the copyright of their publishers, and their own terms govern their use. If you believe we have used material of yours beyond fair dealing or fair use, tell us and we will address it promptly.

We work hard to be accurate and we correct errors publicly — see the editorial policy and corrections page. News nevertheless moves quickly, and articles reflect what was verifiable at the time of publication.
